Do not open electrical panels, remove equipment covers, touch wiring, or attempt refrigerant repairs. If you smell burning, see sparks, hear loud electrical buzzing, or observe a serious leak or unsafe condition, stop using the system and contact a qualified technician.
How many indoor heads are connected to your outdoor unit?
This changes the checks, because multi-zone systems share one outdoor unit and cannot always heat and cool at the same time.
